The team at SynxBody love podcasts and discovering new people to follow and draw inspiration from, particularly if they are health and wellness related or can help motivate us to lead a healthier and happier life, both physically and mentally.

Here are 5 of our favourite health and wellness podcasts.

1. Hurdle

Emily Abbate is a health writer and coach, but she hasn’t always been a health and wellness champion.  She used to be overweight and has transformed her life, thanks largely in part to running. Hurdle has a twice-weekly podcast where Emily shares fitness tips that have helped her throughout her journey, and she interviews people who have overcome hurdles with healthy living. Hurdle is a fantastic podcast filled with great tips, lessons and insights for living a healthier and more active life.

2. Dishing up Nutrition

The Dishing Up Nutrition podcast features nutritionists and dieticians who explore the connection between what we eat and how we feel. They share practical tips for living a healthier life, current trends in food and diet, cooking tips and new research. It’s a great podcast to listen to if you’re in a bit of a food-rut or want to learn more about how the food you eat can impact your health, mood and relationships.

3. The Doctor’s Farmacy

Mark Hyman is a doctor who is leading the health revolution by using food as medicine and highlighting the importance of functional medicine for increased longevity, health and happiness in a way that makes sense and is easy to maintain. His Podcast the Doctor’s Farmacy is a weekly podcast where he interviews leading medical experts and gives you practical solutions to improve your wellbeing.

 4. Chasing Excellence

The Chasing Excellence podcast explores what it means to live a life of excellence, both in the gym and out of it. This podcast is all inclusive and has something for everyone, no matter where you might be with your fitness journey. It dives deep into strategies for eating well and exercising effectively in a way that is easy to understand and put into practice.

 5. Outside

The Outside Podcast is not necessarily focussed on fitness, but it tells incredible stories set in the great outdoors and most episodes feature feats of physical endurance and psychological turmoil. There are inspiring stories like a hiker who is struck by lightning, and another who breaks his leg in the middle of a remote hiking trail. This podcast changes the way you think about your body’s capabilities.

6. KIC Pod

The KIC Pod Podcast is brought to you by the girls behind the food and fitness app Keep it Cleaner (KIC), Steph Claire Smith and Laura Henshaw. These two Aussie women explore a range of topics such as fertility, bullying, fitness and so much more. They often have guest interviewees that discuss fitness, mental health and personal health and fitness journeys. 

7. Bonus: Mindfulness Mode

The Mindfulness Mode podcast is going to help you become the best version of yourself. It will help you to de-stress and focus on your goals by helping to increase your calm, focus and happiness through mindfulness and meditation. The podcast features interviews, tips and tricks to live in the moment and be more centred.
